Antique watch chain, a long antique gold necklace consisting of a jaseron-link chain that ends at one end with a large spring ring.

A slide featuring a delicately chased serpent, whose head is adorned with rose-cut diamonds and cut red glass, holds the chain in place over two rows, with the chain passing through the animal’s mouth.

Period: 19th century
Main material: yellow gold, 750 parts per thousand, 18 karats, weevil hallmark.

Dimensions: Length: approximately 79 cm; chain link thickness: approximately 3 mm.

Length of the slide: approximately 3 cm; width: approximately 12.6 mm; thickness: approximately 8 mm.

Our take: This vintage long necklace can be worn as a single strand or in multiple strands thanks to the spring ring. The slide can be removed if needed, and it is also possible to attach a pendant directly to the spring ring on this vintage gold chain.
