Antique Louis XIII-style Fireplace Made Of Griotte Framboisée Red Marble, Late 19th Century
An elegant antique Louis XIV-style fireplace, characterized by its simple yet powerful lines. It is carved from beautiful “Griotte Framboisée” marble, a rare French variety prized for its deep hues ranging from cherry red to burgundy, enlivened by fine, light veins.
The rounded cornice is typical of this period (late 17th century), as is the meticulous molding on the jambs. The lines are elegant, clean, and imposing
