19th-century Bronze Centerpiece Bowl With Double Patina
A superb lidded bowl, a decorative art object in gilded bronze with a medal-like patina, dating from the 19th century (Neoclassical style).
It features a central figure: a highly detailed depiction of a seated faun, holding a cornucopia in one hand and a water pitcher nearby.
Body & Decoration: A fluted urn resting on three anthropomorphic feet with eagle talons, adorned with winged chimeras (or sphinxes) and bearded mascarons carved in high relief, connected by rich garlands of fruit and foliage.
The entire piece rests on a pedestal consisting of a concave tripartite base decorated with acanthus leaf friezes and volute-style feet.
