Jean Abadie (1921–2010) – "la Guinguette"
Jean Abadie is a figurative painter originally from the southwest (Tarbes) who worked in the Tours region.
Jean Abadie has carved out a strong niche for himself in the art market thanks to his scenes of everyday life.
His style is generous, often executed in impasto (with a thick application of paint).
This painting is very characteristic of his work, featuring a palette of warm colors. He began painting relatively late in life, in the 1960s, and started his career in Orientalist painting.
