Antique Napoleon III Sofa, Louis XV Style, 19th Century

A stunning Napoleon III-era sofa that elegantly incorporates the hallmarks of the Louis XV style. Its unique and refined design is distinguished by a backrest divided into three medallions, with the central medallion subtly widened and raised to give the piece a majestic balance.

​The sinuously curved frame is richly molded, featuring scroll-style armrests with upholstered cuffs, and rests on an elegant arched base.

The upholstery is clad in a satin fabric featuring alternating wide, luminous gold and beige stripes with red bands adorned with rich damask floral motifs. The piece is accentuated by a traditional, meticulous finish with upholstery tacks.
​A piece with character and a dramatic flair that makes a strong statement in both period interiors and highly contemporary or minimalist spaces.  

​Condition: In very good condition. The woodwork is sound and features a beautiful original patina. The structure is perfectly stable, having been rigorously inspected in our cabinetmaking workshop. The upholstery is taut, and the fabric is in good overall condition.
