Majestic Art Nouveau / Belle époque Chandelier In Chiseled Bronze And Shell-shaped Glass – 95 X 95
Large period chandelier from the late 19th–early 20th century (Belle Époque/Art Nouveau period), with particularly generous dimensions.
Frame: Finely chiseled solid bronze. The structure features a twisted central shaft, topped by a fluted ceiling finial, and flares out into an openwork cage adorned with volutes and stylized acanthus leaves. Glasswork: Press-molded glass with a satin-finished base and glossy sections, creating a play of contrasts in the light.
Bronze: Superb condition, solid and substantial structure, magnificent original patina preserved. Central glasswork: The 4 large central shell-shaped glass shades are intact and in perfect condition. Outer tulip shades: The tulip shades are original. Note: There is a small chip (slight wear and tear) on 3 of the 8 tulips, which is barely visible once the chandelier is hung and does not affect the piece’s structural integrity or its superb overall aesthetic.
- In the center (4 lights): An imposing central basket formed by 4 large shell-shaped glass elements (stylized scallop shell design) that fit together perfectly to diffuse a soft, warm light.
- On the periphery (8 lights): 8 bronze console-style light arms, each crowned with a glass tulip shaped like the corolla of a blooming flower.
