This depiction of Mary Magdalene is related to the oval-shaped version painted by Carlo Dolci and held in a private collection in Malta. Another version of the work is also known; it was sold at Auktionshaus Plückbaum in Bonn on January 26, 2018, and attributed to Onorio Marinari. Here, we propose attributing the small painting on display to Agnese Dolci, who was a collaborator and copyist for her father, Carlo.
