Large Napoleon III-era sofa in blackened wood and cane. This sofa features elegant
decoration with gilded ornamentation, painted metal cabochons, and beautiful
mother-of-pearl inlays. The cane is in very good condition. The four legs end in casters.
A large cushion, two bolsters, and a small cushion enhance the aesthetic appeal of this piece.
On the back of the sofa is a label reading “Guerrico and Williams, Carlos Pellegrini,” which
indicates that it belongs to an old collection or has a documented provenance as a work of art listed by
the National Gallery of Art.
