"nymph Of Diana" In Bronze, After Lucie Signoret-ledieu
A beautiful patinated bronze statue depicting Diana the Huntress, known as Diana’s Nymph, based on the work by Lucie Signoret-Ledieu. It depicts the goddess seated on a tree trunk, holding her bow with one finger and waving a trumpet-shaped flower with her other hand toward a sea monster at her feet. Her quiver rests against the tree trunk. This cast is signed “Mme Signoret Ledieu” on the base. It bears a foundry stamp marked “AB.” The sculpture sits on a rotating bronze pedestal featuring a cartouche bearing the title of the work, the artist’s name, and the inscription “awarded at the salon.”
