Art Nouveau Wardrobe In Ash And Maple By Ernesto Basile, Italy, Early 20th Century
Art Nouveau wardrobe in ash and maple, attributed to the renowned designer Ernesto Basile and produced by the Emporio Roma department store in Palermo in the early 20th century. The front is skillfully divided into two sections, with an elegant door featuring beveled mirrors on the left side, while the right side houses seven drawers—the first two of which are smaller and placed side by side—topped by a pair of doors with beveled glass. The piece is embellished with refined painted floral decorations that highlight its distinctive character. The carved and openwork cornice adds a further touch of masterful craftsmanship, making this cabinet a prime example of the Italian Art Nouveau style.
