Versace X Rosenthal "barocco" Ikarus Collection 70-piece Tableware Set, Like-new Condition
Artist: Versace/rosenthal
Important 70-piece dinner service by **Versace for Rosenthal**, in the **Barocco** pattern, on the “Ikarus” form designed by German artist **Paul Wunderlich**.
Created in 1994, the Barocco pattern belongs to the early major collaborations between Versace and Rosenthal. It combines a particularly rich ornamental vocabulary — scrolls, volutes, acanthus leaves, vegetal motifs and geometric borders — with a distinctive palette of black, white, amber yellow and gold.
The Ikarus form, designed by Paul Wunderlich in the early 1990s, is distinguished by its sculptural lines and by its serving pieces featuring highly architectural handles and finials, sometimes developed in the form of wings.
This historic version of the Barocco pattern on the Ikarus form is no longer offered in the current Rosenthal / Versace catalogue.
The Barocco collections available today correspond to more recent interpretations and different shapes.
The present set forms a particularly comprehensive service for six persons, including five different plate sizes, numerous serving pieces, as well as an extensive tea and coffee service.
In new condition, with the decoration and gilding perfectly preserved. No chips, cracks or damage to report.
