An impressive pair of Italian wall consoles in carved walnut, dating from the mid-19th century and designed in the Renaissance style.
Each console is finely and deeply carved with a putto figure depicted in an elegant contrapposto pose, his arms raised to support a circular, molded shelf intended for displaying an object.
The figures are distinguished by their expressive faces, abundant curly hair, and carefully modeled anatomy. Delicate carved drapery surrounds their waists.
