French Louis XV-style Wall Clock – Second Half Of The 18th Century

A splendid French wall clock from the second half of the 1700s, crafted from rosewood, featuring a refined case shaped with the typical sinuous and asymmetrical lines of the Louis XV style.

The structure features rich decorative elements in finely chiseled gilded bronze, with elaborate volutes, rocaille motifs, and floral and ornamental elements that harmoniously frame the case. At the top stands an elegant allegorical figure in gilded bronze, while the lower section features a refined composition with small figures and rocaille motifs, elements that lend the clock a striking visual impact.

The circular dial, richly decorated with Roman numerals and ornamental dials, is set within a rosewood case and embellished with a gilded bronze frame. The composition is completed by a shaped base and a richly decorated pendant, in keeping with the opulent style typical of 18th-century French high cabinetmaking.
