A precious cabinet in brown lacquer and maki-e, opening to reveal a drawer and two doors that conceal four small drawers. The two doors are adorned with a pair of birds of prey, each perched on its own branch, while the main drawer features a lakeside landscape. The two bird figures seem to have adorned the entire cabinet with their polychrome feathers. Indeed, every surface is adorned with them, as is the interior of the doors. Silver-plated copper corner fittings, engraved and cut.
These types of cabinets, featuring side handles, were used to transport tea-making utensils.
