Sèvres Porcelain Vases—battle Scenes, Signed Poitevin
A remarkable pair of Sèvres porcelain vases, with yellow bases, adorned with large polychrome medallions depicting battle scenes, executed with finesse and enhanced with rich gilding.
The vases’ forms are enhanced by swan-neck handles, resting on gilded bronze claw feet, finely chiseled. The mounts bear the hallmark “DECHARIAUX” on the underside of the base.
Each vase bears, inside the pedestal, the signature “Mer Imple de Sèvres”, while the painted decorations are signed Poitevin.
With their high-quality craftsmanship, rich decoration, and gilded bronze mounts, this pair is a fine example of decorative Sèvres porcelain.
