A very beautiful and elegant pair of Napoleon III-era nightstands, second half of the 19th century, crafted from mahogany and rosewood.

These two pieces feature exceptionally meticulous construction and fine cabinetmaking. Tall and narrow in shape, they feature a series of richly molded drawers on the front, offering ample storage space. The fronts play on the contrast between mahogany and rosewood, arranged with great elegance.

The rounded legs are accented with vertical fluting, while the top of each nightstand is adorned with beautiful bronze foliage motifs. The drawers are fitted with knobs

The sides, which are exceptionally well finished, consist of large veneered panels framed by fine moldings, allowing these pieces to be appreciated from various angles.

Each nightstand is topped with a veined red marble slab, set within a molded wooden frame. The two pieces feature different interior layouts, reflecting their function as bedroom furniture. This design principle of Napoleon III nightstands forming a pair but with different layouts is common in 19th-century French furniture.

They rest on small turned legs fitted with antique casters.
