Mid-century Ceramic Table Lamp In Shades Of Brown And Olive Green, By Soholm

A beautiful ceramic table lamp designed by Danish ceramic artist Arne Finne Nielsen and manufactured by Soholm.
The lamp is adorned with abstract reliefs and covered in glaze in shades of green, brown, and soft tones.
Signed on the bottom of the base with model number 3076-2

About the designer:
Arne Finne Nielsen was a Danish designer and ceramic artist, best known for his work at Søholm Keramik on the island of Bornholm in the 1960s and 1970s, where he designed ceramic objects, ceramic table lamps, and wall reliefs.
His creations feature a very distinctive Scandinavian “Mid-Century Modern” style:
- sculptural ceramic forms
- abstract or botanical relief decorations
- earth-toned glazes: olive green, brown, blue, turquoise, and gray
- strong contrasts between the relief and the glaze
- a highly tactile quality, typical of artisanal craftsmanship
Several of his lamps bear the Søholm mark, accompanied by the notation “Finne” or “AN” and a model number. For example, model 3076-2 is listed as a creation by Arne Finne Nielsen from the 1960s, produced by Søholm.
