We are pleased to present this antique Italian nightstand dating from the late 17th century. An extremely rare piece and a jewel of Italian Baroque cabinetmaking, this extraordinary nightstand combines harmonious proportions, formal precision, and timeless charm. Crafted from fine solid walnut, it features simple yet distinctive lines, with the sides and drawer fronts adorned with elegant relief panels and mixed-shaped corners—a hallmark of the Baroque era. At the base, it rests on bracket feet, typical of the period. The deep brown hue of the walnut and the signs of age create a unique and authentic visual accent. Functionally, it is equipped with three practical drawers. Note the fascinating detail on the front left corner of the top: the initials “C A” are branded into the wood. In the 17th century, these letters were often branded as a seal of noble ownership, an inventory mark, or the mark of the workshop that crafted the piece.
