An elegant bronze lamp base with a brown patina, entirely adorned with a rich naturalistic design of thistle leaves, characteristic of the Art Nouveau style. The slender shaft extends into a circular base lavishly decorated with plant motifs in relief. The upper mount, with its supple, sinuous lines, holds a bronze lamp socket.
Signed and dated “Salon 1904” on the base.
A work by Georges Leleu, a leading figure in French furniture and decorative arts of the Art Nouveau period.
