Condition report: good condition, small defect in the undercoat (sagging) in the lower right corner, giving the appearance of a crack in the panel.
Note: Several small-format paintings by Jean-Baptiste Olive, created in July and August 1877 in Marseille, are known to exist. These are landscapes of Marseille. Among them is another view of the Corniche and the Réserve (32 x 10.5 cm, oil on wood, dated August 5, 1877, auction, Paris, June 5, 2002, lot 240, hammer price 6,000 euros plus fees) and a view of the Pharo (52.5 x 29.5 cm, oil on canvas, dated July 29, 1877, auction, London, June 13, 2006, lot 332, sold for 18,000 GBP).
