PAIWAN KNIFE KNOWN AS “TAKITS”

Total length: 58.5 cm (with sheath) - Blade length: 39 cm
Straight, single-edged blade. Tapered wooden handle, engraved and with a deep patina; an iron ferrule.
Asymmetrical wooden scabbard, open on the front, with a coiled wire. The back is adorned with the “hundred-step viper” and engraved with five zoomorphic figures.
A bladed weapon and traditional tool emblematic of the Paiwan people, an indigenous group of southern Taiwan. Serving as a defensive weapon, a hunting tool, and a social marker, it holds a central place in traditional culture.
In good original condition.
