Pair Of Nightstands Stamped R. Roessle Early 20th-century Work
Pair of nightstands stamped R. ROESSLE
Early 20th-century work
An elegant pair of oval-shaped nightstands, made of veneered wood and marquetry, in the Louis XV–Louis XVI Transition style.
Each table features three stacked drawers on the front, decorated with geometric latticework marquetry accented with floral motifs. The drawers are fitted with gilded bronze knobs featuring a radiating design.
The Fleur de Pêcher marble tops, featuring shades of gray, white, and pink, are bordered by an openwork brass frame. The curved bands rest on four slender, slightly arched legs, joined by a marquetry crossbar and finished with gilded bronze feet.
This pair is distinguished by the elegance of its proportions, the delicacy of its marquetry decoration, and the quality of its craftsmanship.
Each piece bears the stamped mark “R. ROESSLE” on the underside of the frame.
