While he created *Thirty-Six Views of Mount Fuji* in the 1940s in the Shin-Hanga style,Thirty-Six Views of Mount Fuji, he decided to revisit the theme after World War II in a more personal style, sosaku-hanga, which he called “Thirty-Six New Views of Mount Fuji.”
Lake Kawaguchi lies north of Mount Fuji on the Japanese island of Honshū, in Yamanashi Prefecture; it is the best-known and northernmost of the Fujigoko lakes. It is part of the Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park
