Brass Palm Tree Wall Sconce – From The 1970s
Large brass wall sconce featuring a stylized palm tree, crafted in the 1970s.
The upper section consists of an elegant cluster of leaves of varying sizes, each individually cut and shaped to give the foliage movement and volume. The edges of the leaves feature a delicate beaded decoration.
The body, made entirely of brass, features a particularly interesting design: slightly domed on the front, it is accented by decorative raised rings reminiscent of bamboo nodes. The lower section ends with a second cluster of leaves.
The wall sconce accommodates two light sources, mounted on E27 sockets and discreetly concealed beneath the foliage, providing indirect lighting.
This meticulously crafted piece is characteristic of the taste for botanical and exotic motifs in the decorative arts of the 1970s and is comparable to French designs from that period.
