Louis Fortuney (1875–1951) – Young Spanish Woman – 1931
A charming portrait titled “Young Spanish Woman,” painted in 1931 and attributed to Louis Fortuney (1875–1951).
The work depicts a young Spanish woman with an expressive face, wearing a dark mantilla adorned with red flowers. The loose brushwork, warm colors, and strong contrasts give this portrait a great deal of character.
The work is presented in an elegant antique gilded frame with a red mat.
On the reverse are several old inscriptions, including the title “Young Spanish Woman,” the date 1931, the work’s dimensions (31 × 29 cm), and a note referring to Fortuney, born around 1878. There is also a handwritten inscription and a signature on the back.
