This is a classic of 1960s French design: the “Eurolax R1” lounge chair (or deck chair), designed by the Italian-French designer Charles Zublena in 1965.This one-piece, wave-shaped model was originally designed specifically for use in Club Med vacation villages. It is made of fiberglass-reinforced plastic(usually covered with a white gel coat), which made it extremely weather-resistant, lightweight, and stackable. Its organic, minimalist design is so emblematic of that era that it is now part of the collections of prestigious museums, notably the Centre Pompidou in Paris.
