PAPST François-Ignace, a secretary desk resembling a Consulate-period mahogany chest of drawers, molded and carved.
It opens to reveal three large drawers, a leather-covered flap concealing seven small drawers and two shelves.
It rests on claw feet at the front.
Top in veined gray marble.
Key included; locks in working order.

François-Ignace Papst—Cabinetmaker originally from Germany. Became a master cabinetmaker on September 3, 1785. He worked in the Cour Saint-Joseph on Rue de Charonne and later on Rue du Faubourg-Saint-Antoine. He supplied furniture to the Garde-Meuble de la Couronne.
