CHAMELOT - DELVIGNE service revolver, Model 1873 - 19th century
Polished white frame, with all parts bearing the same serial number.
Marked on the frame block: "Manufacture Armes de St Etienne."
Smooth-bore six-shot cylinder bearing the serial number and hallmarks, including a "crowned E".
Numerous hallmarks on the frame, trigger guard, cylinder, and barrel.
Round barrel with sighting device, then octagonal in cross-section, with good rifling inside, caliber 11.73 mm.
"SA & DA" mechanism, with the hammer set to the half-cock position and in perfect working order. (The hammer is positioned away from the cartridges in the cylinder, serving as a safety mechanism).
Right-side loading door pivots at its lower end and tilts open.
Sliding ejection rod
Marked “1873” on the barrel; on the left side, the serial number and the R & T controller and inspector’s hallmarks within a circle.
On the right side: S 1882
Trigger under the trigger guard bearing the serial number stamp.
Checkered walnut grip plates secured centrally by a cross screw.
Metal cap with a sling ring.
The trigger, hammer, action cover, cleaning rod, and screws have a gold-plated finish.
Mechanism in perfect working order.
Length: 24 cm
Barrel length: 11.4 cm
Weight: 1.160 kg
Category "D" firearm under Article L311-2 of the French Internal Security Code; legally available for ownership and purchase by adults.
