Large Porcelain Box Decorated By André Golse, Circa 1900

Artist: Andre Golse
A large porcelain box decorated by André Golse’s workshops.
André Golse was a porcelain painter and decorator based in Limoges from the late 19th century onward. Highly talented, he filed a patent in 1884 to protect a process for applying enamels to porcelain.

Our kiln-blue box features a scene painted on its lid depicting three young women in a dreamlike world where doves are flying...an allusion to Love.
Artist’s signature, studio stamp, and Sèvres mark......(Apocryphal?)
