Pepper-box revolver, signed "David HERMAND," with 6 detachable barrels in 9 mm caliber, patent dated 1837, 19th century.
Forced-ball pepper revolver with 6 detachable barrels, each numbered and aligned with 6 corresponding chambers.
The frame is fully engraved with plant motifs, and the long trigger guard extends along the back of the stock to the metal cap, which is also engraved with plant motifs.
Pyramidal metal cap with a ring, also engraved.
Ring trigger; ebony stock secured with a through-screw.
Sighting device on top of the receiver.
Hallmarks “ELG in an oval” and “crowned B” on the receiver where the numbered barrels are mounted.
Double-action mechanism in perfect working order.
Manufacturer’s mark on the receiver tail: “HERMAND. D – Patented” in an oval; see photos for details.
