Antique Majolica Tile Floor With Central Rosette, 23 Square Meters

A rare set of original majolica floor tiles with a terracotta backing, dating from around 1830 and attributable to the “Fabbrica Privileggiata dei Colonnesi” manufactory, as documented by the oval mark stamped on the back of the tiles.

The floor features a complete compositional structure of great value, consisting of:

* a prominent central polychrome rosette, featuring a radial design of foliage and ornamental motifs, conceived as the visual focal point of the entire decorative scheme

This combination identifies the floor as a true “architectural ceramic carpet,” typical of early 19th-century southern Italian production, blending decorative tradition with late Neoclassical taste.

The tiles, made of solid terracotta with a glazed finish, retain all the characteristics of antique majolica:
The total area available is approximately 23 square meters, a significant size that is rarely found for a complete, branded 19th-century historic floor.
