Artist Details
John White RI (1851–1933) was a Scottish painter born in Edinburgh who studied at the Royal Scottish Academy before establishing a successful exhibiting career at the Royal Academy from 1877. Elected a member of the Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours in 1882, he became renowned for his atmospheric depictions of the rural and coastal landscapes of East and North Devon.
