Based on a painting by Bon Boullogne (1649–1717) exhibited at the Beaux-Arts in Tours, “The Triumph of Neptune,” painted around 1700, depicting Neptune carrying Amphitrite to his palace.
The figures are easily recognizable by their customary attributes and are depicted in a horse-drawn sea chariot, followed by Amphitrite’s retinue.
