Rare Art Deco Orientalist mantelpiece set in onyx, bronze, and mother-of-pearl, circa 1930
Rare and elegant Art Deco mantelpiece set consisting of a clock and a pair of side tables, crafted from honey-colored onyx and Portor marble. The clock is enhanced by two majestic patinated bronze elephants and features a remarkable panel of natural mother-of-pearl, engraved, gilded, and polychrome, depicting an elephant in armor in front of an oriental mosque, signed “THEVA.” The side pieces are adorned with engraved panels signed by A. Degrange, continuing the Orientalist theme.
