This nude from the back by Albert Genta features a very beautiful pose. This renowned painter and draftsman (1901–1989) specialized in the female nude. Always depicted in very elegant poses, without any vulgarity, this red chalk drawing shows a woman asleep from the back. A master of the nude, who also worked in illustration and for the press, he exhibited a nude titled “Sleeping Woman” at the 1941 Salon des Indépendants.
