Gabrielle Ohl traveled across five continents. In Hong Kong and Vietnam, she learned Chinese painting techniques, including India ink and watercolor. She studied drawing and oil painting at the School of Fine Arts in Madrid, the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, and the Académie Julian in Paris.
From 1960 onwards, she participated in numerous group exhibitions, notably in Paris (at the Salons des Indépendants, d’Automne, de la Marine, and the Union of Women Painters and Sculptors), as well as in various provincial towns, across Europe, and in the United States. She has held solo exhibitions showcasing bodies of work in Paris since 1961, and in Biarritz, Strasbourg, Brussels, London, Luxembourg, Malaysia, and Korea.
