Elegant round mirror in hammered wrought iron, crafted during the heyday of Art Deco, circa 1925–1930. With a design of remarkable simplicity, it perfectly illustrates the evolution of French metalwork during the interwar period, when the quality of the metalwork took precedence over excessive ornamentation.

Its circular, hand-hammered frame is extended on either side by two elegant volutes that lighten the composition and give it an instantly recognizable silhouette. This pursuit of pure, balanced lines evokes the work of the great French metalworkers such as Edgar Brandt, Raymond Subes, and Poillerat, who elevated wrought iron to a noble material in Art Deco architecture and decoration.
