Coffee Table Attributed To Belarti With Bird Decoration

An elegant coffee table in glazed ceramic and black lacquered metal, attributed to the Belarti workshop, Belgium, circa 1968-1972.
The tabletop is composed of nine glazed ceramic tiles forming a striking continuous design of stylized birds. The green, yellow, turquoise, and red glazes stand out against a black outline, characteristic of Belgian productions of this period.

The table rests on an elegant black lacquered steel base, an emblematic design of Belarti's productions from the late 1960s. Research suggests that this piece is a product of the Belarti workshop, founded in Belgium and associated with the ceramist Julien de Covemaeker (1927-2008).
