Chair made of bent steel tubing, adorned with three flat strips on the backrest; seat made of metal perforated with diamond patterns. Designed by Robert Mallet-Stevens, produced by Tubor, France, circa 1930.
Frame in good condition; paint left as issome rust points.

Robert Mallet-Stevens (1886–1945) was a French architect and designer who was part of the Modern Movement.Through his family, which was partly from Brussels, he frequented the Stoclet Palace, designed by Joseph Hoffmann, which would have a decisive influence on his architectural style.He trained at the École Spéciale d’Architecture in Paris, then initially turned his attention to designing furniture and sets for the cinema, including those for Marcel L’Herbier’s 1924 film *L’inhumaine*.As a set designer and architect, he created buildings considered masterpieces of 1930s modernist architecture, including: the Villa de Noailles, built between 1925 and 1933, and the Villa Cravois, a cross-shaped structure built in the Nord region between 1929 and 1932.
