Neo-gothic Processional Lantern

This isa neo-Gothic-style lantern, probably from the late 19th century.Structure and Materials
Shape: Hexagonal, with a slender silhouette reminiscent of a cathedral spire.
Frame: Made of patinated gilded metal, likely bronze or brass. It is intricately crafted with pointed arches, small columns, rosettes, and quatrefoils typical of Gothic architecture.
Roof: A six-sided pyramidal roof made of blackened metal, openwork with small decorative motifs. It is topped by a wooden ball and a suspension ring.
Panels: Six panes of textured/frosted glass that diffuse the light without being completely transparent.
Technical details: An electrical cable can be seen coming out the side, so it has been electrified.Style and AmbienceThe piece as a whole is highly ornamental. The miniature architectural motifs give it an ecclesiastical feel, like a piece of furniture from a church or chapel. It evokes processional lanterns or the light fixtures found in religious buildings
