Louis XVI-style Chest Of Drawers In Walnut
A Louis XVI-style walnut chest of drawers from the early 19th century (late 18th century); the front features five drawers in three rows with drop-down handles.
A key opens the center drawer of the top section; it works.
The top is made of very thick white veined marble with a grooved edge.
This chest of drawers is adorned with brass moldings on the drawers and the two-panel sides.
A brass molding highlights the row of three upper drawers.
The front legs are rounded with fluted grooves; the back legs are also fluted.
The tops of the front legs are adorned with scrapers.
The four “toupie” legs are banded and end in a shoe.
This chest of drawers, in very good original condition, is a rare walnut model and is of very fine craftsmanship.
Note: Scratches on the marble are visible in one photograph.
