Art Deco Secretary Desk
Artist: Haentgé Frères
Art Deco secretary desk from the 1930s–1940s, crafted from magnificent burl walnut. The same pattern is featured on the front, sides, and top. This is a superbly crafted piece from the workshop of the Haentgé Brothers, which was located in the Faubourg Saint-Antoine in Paris. The lower section opens via two doors to reveal a storage area with adjustable shelves on rails. The Haentgé brothers were well-known and renowned in the 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s for crafting a wide variety of furniture, all of which was of superb quality.
The drop-down top opens at a height of 75 cm and extends 47 cm beyond the secretary desk’s body.
