Large cylindrical vase made of thick blown glass, orange-red in color, with a glossy, satin finish, decorated with six stylized Art Deco-style round fishintently etched with sand and acid.
Stepped base, composed ofthree concentric circles that add to the finesse and elegance of thecomposition.

Signed on the side “Jarvil Nancy,” a signatureused by André Delatte around 1930–1933 (no doubt inmemory of the town where his first kiln was located, at a small artistic glassworkscalled “Les Verreries de l’Est” in Jarville)

Height 18 cm – diameter 14 cm
In perfect condition
This vase combines several rare features: its classic shape, refined by its elegant base; its vivid, deep color; its decorationfeaturing stylized fish creating bubbles, with eyes facing in different directionsthat seem to smile; and finally, this pseudonymous signature—a sort of tribute to thetown that hosted his early works: Jarville-la-Malgrangenear Nancy.

The December 4, 2015, issue of “Magazine de Proantic”was dedicated to glass artist André Delatte and highlights the rarity of thissignature; see the link to this article:
