Cast-iron Fireplace Plate
Large cast-iron backfire, decorated with Narcissus and a multitude of floral motifs and plant garlands, in the Regency style. French origin. This square plaque dates from the late 18th to early 19th century. The mirror, in the hand of Narcissus, is the symbol in mythology for truth, self reflection and portals to the unseen. It represents the ultimate quest for inner wisdom and divine connection. Dimensions are 81 cm x 81 cm. We have also a similar backfire with smaler dimensions. Worldwide “In-House Delivery.”
