Tanto with an authentic, traditional, hand-forged blade from the late Edo period (first half of the 19th century).
Signed MASAMITSU; traces of oxidation on the blade.

Tsuba featuring a stylized wave or autumn foliage motif, characteristic of the Edo period. The menuki depicts an eggplant, a motif considered auspicious.

The scabbard is covered in stingray or shark skin, with a jagged tip.
