Louis XV-style Display Cabinet With Marquetry Decoration, 19th Century
A curved Louis XV-style display cabinet made of rosewood, amaranth, and satinwood veneers, decorated with a diamond-patterned frieze, marquetry depicting bouquets of tied flowers, and vases filled with flowers. Satiné is an exotic wood with a yellow background and red or yellow-gray and green-gray veins, used in cabinetmaking and marquetry. Condition Report: In very good overall condition, with the marquetry in very good condition. The display cabinet retains its two original keys. The bronze has a few oxidation spots, which are barely visible. The drawer lock does not work.
Curtain rods tailored to the shape of the glass panes are included, allowing for the addition of pleated curtains. The leather on the drop-down panel, currently pistachio green, can be replaced.
