Rare Remington Rolling Block 1901 Rifle For The French Army, 8 Mm Lebel
Artist: Remington
Rare 1901 Rolling Block carbine, French military issue, in 8 mm Lebel caliber.
World War I era
These carbines were issued to non-combatant soldiers to free up the Lebel rifles.
This specimen, in its original condition, has the rare feature of bearing both American and French serial numbers, making it one of the first models delivered, as the French army quickly stopped numbering them.
Condition:
Visible orange peel and corrosion; otherwise, the weapon has not been modified for the N-caliber cartridge. It has therefore retained its World War I configuration.
Mechanical condition is flawless.
The hammer has two firm cocking notches
No play anywhere
The barrel rifling is very sharp, with a few minor traces of oxidation but otherwise nearly mirror-like
Category "D" firearm—available for sale to adults.
Shipping costs:
France: 40 €
Europe: 58 €
