Psyche is a female figure from Greek mythology. Psyche was the daughter of a king and had two sisters. She was the lover of Eros, the son of Aphrodite.
"Amor and Psyche" is a story taken from *The Metamorphoses*, written in the 2nd century AD by Lucius Apuleius Madaurensis. The story recounts how Psyche and Cupid, or Amor, overcame the obstacles standing in the way of their love and were ultimately united by the sacred bonds of marriage.
