Two-section Mountain-style Sideboard Made Of Fir
Two-section sideboard in carved fir – Late 18th century
Elegant two-section sideboard in solid fir dating from the late 18th century, featuring fine carving and a warm patina.
The upper section opens with two molded doors richly carved with floral motifs, foliage, and bunches of grapes, topped by a remarkable central carved shell. The lower section consists of two belt-style drawers and two doors, also adorned with carved decorations. The scalloped lower rail is embellished with carved detailing that lends the piece a great deal of character.
The panels are mounted flush and framed by elegant moldings. The hardware and keyholes are made of bronze.
This sideboard has retained all the authenticity and charm of its era with its beautiful original patina, which highlights the grain of the fir.
