Original Pair Of Delft Vases
Pair of Delft vases. In exceptional condition. No restorations, very minor glaze-chips, that's to it's 200 plus- years of age, visible in the photo. Beautiful pastoral scenes in cobalt bleu under glossy tin-glaze. The handles are each side shaped as two entwined snakes, finished with dotted 'lace', typical of Delftware motifs. This is a substantial, decorative piece from the best period of Dutch ceramic art. The underside bears the freehand signature of PVDB, Paulus Van De Burgh, master potter active in Delft, 1759–1773. The signature is usual the name of the potterie, not always the painter. Worldwide protected shipping. Delivery within Europe can be done by Antique Fireplaces First: “In-House Delivery.”
